They don't do to well in hilly or mountainous maps because they just fly into the terrain and disappear. I personally haven't messed with them that much but if I were to and had your problem some of the things I would do is be sure to raise them well into the air and then bring up the Item Attribute...

Anyone that knows anything about Mustangs knows about the emblems that designate the engine in the 64, 64-1/2, 65, and 66 years.
