TEAMSPEAK3 OVERLAY SETUP

Post by Bubbachuk-PG- »

TeamSpeak3 comes with an screen overlay that allows you to view who is on TS and identifies the person talking on your game screen.

Here is how to set it up:

Start TS3 (Not necessary to login)

Click 'Settings'

Select 'Plugins'

The window on the left side will show 'DirectX overlay plugin'. Check the box next to it.
This activates the overlay.

There are 2 ways to position the overlay on your game screen.

1. Right-click on the words 'DirectX overlay plugin'. Select 'Settings'. This brings up the Overlay Options Window.
There are 2 changes you can make that will position the overlay.
Overlay initial X position (Sets overlay horizontally on the screen)
Overlay initial Y position (Sets overlay vertically on the screen)

2. Login to TS and start the game. When the overlay appears on the screen, press the 'Scroll Lock' key. This places a cursor on the screen. Click on the top border of the overlay and move the overlay where you want it.

Display

I like my overlay on the right side and the lower one-half of the screen. My settings are:
Overlay initial X position [875]
Overlay initial Y position [300]

Also in this window are selections for 'Popup'. I have all mine checked so I can see who is entering and leaving the TS Server.

Colors Tab

This area allows you to set the opacity of the TS Overlay so that it's not so intrusive plus you can set the different colors of the player names to show whether they are talking, silent or muted.

I have my overlay opacity set up where the overlay background is barely visible and the names prominent. Here's the settings I used:

Window opacity [1]
Scrollbar opacity [10]
Titlebar opacity [50]
Background color [FFFFFFFF]

You can set the 'Font colors' to whatever suits you.

BE SURE AND CLICK APPLY
