Possible Problem with 1.6

Post by Bubbachuk-PG- » Wed Jan 11, 2017 4:01 pm

I and a few other players have noticed that there are several maps where the BGs are either not as aggressive as they are in 1.5 or they are not aggressive at all. What causes that?

I don't know. That has been like that since I could remember. It has nothing to do with any changes that I have done. I don't set any aggressive anything outside of the weapons def. But that only has to do with the gun itself and not what the AI does. It almost seems like it loads two different files depending on the map load. It could be a screw up with the files the build into the dfx2.exe as there are many defs in it that I can't change.

Huntor,

I remember us asking if you could make the bad guys react as they do in DFX2 when we moved from 1.3 to 1.5 and you did.

What we're seeing now is the bad guys just standing around on many of the maps in 1.6 versus they way they react in 1.5.

The same thing happened when we went from 1.2 to 1.3 so the mappers had to tune up the aggressiveness of the bad guys when we moved to 1.3.

Then when we moved to the 1.5 and we had to tone down the aggressiveness to keep players in the server.

What I'm seeing is that the bad guys in 1.6 are as they were in 1.3. Less aggressive and easily killed.

I'm not sure how else to explain it.

I believe you've not done anything to the AI's but it's definitely way easier to score high kills to death ratios in 1.6 versus 1.5.

The only thing in the 1.5 version was add the same weapons defs the player has to the bad guys. So it wasn't aggressiveness more like accuracy and speed. I can't make the AI do anything different or Ii would make them stop shooting 3 at a time ;-)

Thanks.

Just letting you know what we, as mappers, are seeing.

Great job Huntor!
