Wolfrat Versions

Post by huntor »

Hey guys when you were running wolfrat. Which versions were you using?

I think the latest version was 1.0.3.0 and prior to that was 0.95??

Have you ever tried the 0.90 version?

The first thing I noticed about the 0.90 version is I do not get a dll error like I do with the 1.0.3.0 version.

Which makes me wonder if it connects differently.

I would like to test if it will work with your server and not crash it. I have had it going on my test server for about 30 minutes with no crash. I do know it only updates every 60 seconds.

Anyone know the refresh rate of the current version?? Anyone have the latest 1.0.3.0 versoin that works with windows 7. I hate to download a dll file that could have a virus associated to it.

Never mind. 0.90 version doesn't show player names. Have you guys ever tried wolfrat without the AutoRefresh on???

It seems every two seconds that thing pings the server. I think that is what is crashing the server during map loads. I am testing it with that option off.
If anyone else might be interested I could show you how to set it up that way.

If my memory server me correctly, it (V1.0.3.0) was constantly updating . . . like every couple of seconds. I know there's a box to check for the auto update and if you leave it unchecked it doesn't update.

One thing I could never figure out was how to set up the "Admin" section.

Yeah after messing around with it more last night it auto checks everytime you login to start the auto update. If there was a way to disable or change the speed of how fast it checks for updates it would be fine. But since there is no way nevermind ;-(

On the subject of WolfRAT...I was wondering if I could be so bold as to ask if someone had a copy and if I could download it for my server?

I have been away for a while and have just started playing again, lost my HD and backups, I am rebuilding.

If you could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

It's a hard program to find any more. You can try this link and see if you can get it. http://www.general-files.com/download/g ... 0.zip.html

If not, Google "WolfRat 1030".

Thank you for the reply. As it turns out I had a copy all along. I found an old CD and it had the original 0.95 and the 1030 exe.

It works great. If anyone is looking for it I will have it. Contact me.

Thanks so much...

You can also use http://www.primetechhosting.com/phpratbeta It basically does most of the same things, but doesn't cause a server to crash like wolfrat does.

Thanks for that Huntor, I used that script in the past but it quit working, thanks for modding it and getting it to work. It seems way less of a bandwidth hog too.

This will help me a lot since I am having IC troubles at present anyway. No Internet in my area so I am relying on the Sprint mobile network using my EVO as a hotspot right now. Needless to say it's a very narrow tube.

Verizon just put up a tower about a mile away so I am contemplating getting a 4G hotspot, but man they want a lot of money here for just 8 gig a month! Needless to say that the posted speeds I am seeing on the forum are making me crazy. :o

I wouldn't sleep for a week if I had 5 meg down and half that up...

Thanks again, it is appreciated.
