another windows 8???

So, now that that you Window 8/8.1 users have had sometime with the OS, what do you think. Which is better Windows 7 or 8?

I need to get my son a new computer so I guess I will go with windows 7

I've been running 8.1 and have not had any issues with it. runs pretty smooth for me. I so have a shell set up so it looks more like 7 though.

I agree with JD 8.1 is faster than 7. The feel and how everything is setup is different. If you only click on icons on the desktop and set it up so it boots directly to desktop it is a decent OS. In a year 9 will be out which should further the 8.1 into more of a desktop os.

The computer I will be building is for a 10 year old. Plays games and surfs the net/youtube. Granted theses kids are very smart these days but I am torn on which OS to use.

Get 8.1 and upgrade it to 9 when it comes out
