hz and fps

Post by BLAZIN GUNS-PG- »

 will a 144hz monitor work well with a g/card that's putting out 60fps ? any monitor advice, ips ,tn led ?
I will be upgrading the g/card in the near future ( end jan ) so bear that in mind.
I am also looking for suggestions on a good g/card around 3 to 400 maybe a bit more if its worth it

I am by no means a expert on monitors or gaming monitors for that fact. However there is some good info on the two links below for what monitors or standards you are looking for.

Here is Linus Tech Tips video that might help.

It sounds like tn led might be the best option. But watch the video and see if it helps you. Also the faster the hz the faster the graphics card you will need in order to use the hz.

This link below talks about adaptive sync/variable refresh rate. It shows a great image difference between the two with FreeSync off and On.
Its a 2018 article but I don't think much has changed really.

Either way if you go with one or the other you might be tied into one brand of graphics card vs the other too with FreeSync amd vs G-Sync Nvidia.
