Internet Connection Problem
Re: Internet Connection Problem
That sounds like a virus to me. Generally if your AV goes offline and you lose internet connection it is due to something running in the background.

It has something to do specifically with McAfee... Every time I would try to reinstall it I would lose my internet. I managed to reboot, got a connection and downloaded Malwarebytes AV and it is working now. I can't run both, they are incompatible.

Re: Internet Connection Problem
McAfee has had these problems for years and that is why I refuse to use it. Granted when you install malwarebytes it will say they are not compatible. You could just use microsofts AV works just as good as any and I havent seen anyone have compatibility issues. Also try this one too wind. http://www.superantispyware.com/
Personally I think this spyware program works better than malwarebytes and like anything else you need to have more then one to find little critters.

I use AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2011 on all 6 of my computers and have never had a problem. Here's a link for it if you want to take a look at it. http://free.avg.com/free-antivirus-download

Re: Internet Connection Problem
AVG is just okay. However microsoft makes a nice free one

Also with the microsoft one you will not run into having to upgrade to new version every year or even 6 months. No advertisements.
