Bubba, you once told me how to set my map to where I could go into Single Player mode to play it and I've since forgotten.
I am going to try and make a simple map to start and hopefully I can get my A.D.D. under control long enough to finish a map.
Please don't dangle any shiny objects in front of me to distract me......

Re: Checking map as your building it
Start the map by selecting a terrain and then put a "Start Player" marker on it by pressing the "Insert" key then pressing your left mouse button. This brings up the "Insert Item" window. Select "Markers" and scroll down near the bottom until you see "start, player". Click on it then click OK. This is where you will be when you enter the map.
Type a name in "Mission Name" Box . . . like TEST or MAP TEST.
Check the box below Single Player next to "Single Player Respawn".
Go to File and select "Save As". Type in a name like TEST or MAP TEST. This saves the .mis file portion of the map which is the file you work on in the map editor. Be sure it saves into the game folder!
NEXT
Go to File and select "Save and Export w/Stats". The name will already be in the file name area. This save the .bms file portion of the map which is the map that you play on.
Now you're ready to see your map in the game.
Start the game and select Single Player
Select "Instant Action". The name of your map will appear there. Just double-click on the map name and it will start.

Re: Checking map as your building it
This is weird.....
I have done all that you said but when I go to BO to try and play it nothing shows up under 'Instant Action'.
I went into my C: drive to look for the file to ensure it saved but can't find it. Changed my folder options to show hidden files but still can't locate the file.
I open my Med Editor and 'Open File' it shows the path to be in my BO1.3 folder but I can't locate it.
I did notice that the file icon *.mis has a small lock image on it. Not sure how to rid it of that.
HUNTOR!!??!!??!!??!! Any ideas?

I had that same issue with Win7. You have to set both the Med and game to run as administrator.

Rename your folder to BO13. The period between 1 and 3 (1.3) causes problems with the map editor.it shows the path to be in my BO1.3 folder but I can't locate it.
You may also need to pull up the Properties of your game desktop icon and remove the period in the Path and Target so your game will run.
