I have a virus!

I have somehow gotten a virus called Trojan horse Patched_c.LYT";"Object is white-listed (critical/system file that should not be removed)"
My AVG will not get rid of it.Any help would be appreciated!

I have made good experience with this one.
Download the image and burn it to a disc.
It's a boot disc that creates a linux surface without touching windows.
It will check your system and remove all virus found there.
You need to insert it before booting your system.
I hope, the link is not only in german. If you got problems with it, i can send it by mail.

My computer will not boot up.I am trying to find out how to fix it.Any suggestions on how to boot it in safe mode?I will check latter to see any info!Vista Home premium!

When it deals directly with system files yes. If it was an outside program no.

But it might not have gotten rid of the other files that installed it.

In other words, it will restore "the system" to the same way that it was configured prior to the restore point. If you have installed third party software since then, it will still see that software. That possibly includes malware that might still reside on your hard drive. My suggestion is to always run an anti-malware program IMMEDIATELY after the system restore just in case the malware tries to re-install itself. :geek:

The only true way to delete ALL traces of a virus is to wipe the drive and reinstall.

AV programs can do most, but how are you ever sure?
