The only reason IE of any number is the most popular browser is that it comes preinstalled on the pcs that comprise the market share.

Browser agnostics depends on the browser being standards compliant, and not some interpretation of standards.

And the Eye just wanted to know where to send the sheep.

The stats I was quoting were based on usage (at that time) not numbers of units sold.
