Bubba's New Computer???

Post by Bubbachuk-PG- »

No, I haven't bought one yet but I'm looking for one. I don't want to spend more than $1,000 for a system but I want to get one good enough to run games like COD, ARMA, etc. The computer store custom builds computers and sells them but will also custom build to my specs.
I don't know a whole lot about what to look for so I'm putting up some specs on one that I'm considering. Right off the bat I'm not crazy about the Integrated Video card.

Quad-Core AMD System
AMD A10-5800K Quad Core FM2
Integrated Radeon HD 7600D
8GB DDR3 Memory
1TB Western Digital Black Hard Drive
DVD-RW/CD-RW BURNER
Multimedia Card Reader
DVI, VGA, HDMI, and USB 3.0
Win 8 or Win 7 home 64 bit

I'd appreciate your input!

Well I would suggest going with the ASUS CROSSHAIR V FORMULA-Z motherboard if you prefer AMD processors or the P9X79 PRO if you like Intel i7 core. Neither one of these boards comes with integrated video and both are sli ready.

You can check out the motherboards at asus.com

Gigabyte makes good motherboards also

Check out mwave.com for building your own system. You can save a few bucks by putting your own system together. You can have them install the processor, memory, and tested for like 10 bucks.

I have not heard anything good about windows 8

Windows 7 definitely, Windows 8 is much worse than even Vista... as a matter of fact, at this point in its short unhappy life, Vista sold more copies than Windows 8 has

I second that - saw it on a computer in a store and tried it for a few minutes.
Wouldn't spend 10 cent on it.

To much "bling-bling" and no usability at all.

Yes the above onboard video on that chip is decent and prob way better then what you have currently. However it is not very powerful for todays games for playing.

You can still go along with that setup but you will need to buy a decent video card to go along with it.
