When I start my DFX2 with BOps Mod I get a dialog box that asks for permission to make changes to my system.
When I start my DFX2 w/o BOps Mod I do not get that dialog box.

Is that normal? Is it the video settings that BOps Mod is using?

Are your video settings for the BO Mod different than those for straight DFX2?

Both DFX2 and BOps are the same.

I get the same thing every time I run COD MW2

Not really sure why that would come up each time. BO Mod uses same setting as the plain version. You can't change the exe that runs dfx2. That is the only thing that controls your video settings. (For the game that is)

I think this has more to do with the security settings on Windows 7 than the actual video settings within DFX2.

When we installed the BO Mod, (if memory serves me right) we were downloading a mod file after copying the original DFX2 folder over to a new location, and then overwriting the contents into that new folder.

At that point, Win7 hasn't seen anything that looks like a standard installation of a new piece of software, and hence ((now this is speculation on my part (no Windows 7 expert here)) it doesn't look like Win7 considers that install as legitimate. Then when your BO starts, and tries to verify the video settings (whether they are different or not) the security features (inherited from Vista but much less verbose in Win7) see a "rogue" piece of software trying to "make a change" and sends the request to the user to allow "changes" to the system. My guess is that you can probably tell Win7 to always trust any action associated with the BO Mod executable, or any component that it fires off, within the security settings of Windows 7.

I think you a right. I normally don't run with the UAC on so I don't see all these issues with the windows 7 security. Keep barking at that tree.

i run win 7 and no bother at all.... dfx2 is on my allow list. Im no expert but i do get the same dialogue box with other programmes.Is it installed under compatability mode...

Yeah I think it has to do with when you install DFX2. The system uses your registry. Once you install it it knows the location. So it will never ask if you want to start it or not. Since BO is in a different folder the system does not know that file is okay to run from a different folder. Hence the pop up screen are you sure you want to run this. Just a security feature microsoft put in.
