Windows 10
Re: Windows 10
Well this kinda brought me up to speed on how windows 10 will work if you upgrade.
http://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft- ... indows-10/
Guess once you are done with the upgrade process. If you wipe and re-install 10 and skip the key code twice. Once online it can detect your hardware and match to the database and activate your windows. Kinda cool. Not sure how hardware upgrade would work though. Hopefully just as easy.

Re: Windows 10
I upgraded the wife's laptop to 10 and it seems to be working ok, my gaming laptop apparently either will be a while or won't be eligible, it says the drivers are not available for my video card. (AMD Radeon 6770, 1 gb)

Re: Windows 10
Here are the minimum specs.
Processor:
1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster processor or SoC
RAM:
1 gigabyte (GB) for 32-bit or 2 GB for 64-bit
Hard disk space:
16 GB for 32-bit OS, 20 GB for 64-bit OS
Graphics card:
DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driver
Display:
800x600
Also here are the supported driver for your graphics.
AMD Mobility Product Family Compatibility
AMD Radeon™ R9 M300 Series AMD Radeon™ R5 M200 Series
AMD Radeon™ R7 M300 Series AMD Radeon™ HD 8000M Series
AMD Radeon™ R5 M300 Series AMD Radeon™ HD 7000M Series
AMD Radeon™ R9 M200 Series AMD Radeon™ HD 6000M Series
AMD Radeon™ R7 M200 Series ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5000 Series
This is the windows 10 driver. So it might have something to do with having a very old driver maybe? Is yours the HD version?
If you need help with this I can probably help ya out. Sometimes the old driver has to be removed before it will allow you to upgrade. Also you have to have all the latest .net versions installed as well before you can use the latest AMD driver.

Re: Windows 10
Thanks Huntor, but I got the notification that it was now available for download, so will try it and see. I am hoping this will solve the issue I have been having with the video card driver crashing.

Re: Windows 10
now all of a sudden when I try to play DFX2 and/or Black Ops my laptop is crashing to blue screen and I am getting a "VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL ERROR" I have checked and rechecked that all of my drivers are up to date. I can play World of Tanks and World of Warships, but World of Warplanes, War Thunder and DFX2 cause a crash... wtf??

Re: Windows 10
I was having issues due to outdated drivers, but as a part of the windows 10 package, the video drivers were updated to the latest version. My system specifications are : HP Pavilion DV7
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz; 165A 10.31; Bios F.1B; Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000; 1600 x 900; Driver 9.17.10.4229 (5/27/2015) Gaming Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6700M Series; 1280 x 1024; Vram 4,875 MB; Driver 15.200.1062.1004 (8/3/2015).
For some reason DFX2 doesn't recognize the AMD card and tries to play with the intel video.

Re: Windows 10
I think I had to right click on the game icon and tell it to pick the nvidia graphics card before I tried to start the game up. DFX2 will only use what the default graphics card otherwise. Which in this case would be your intel graphics card.
You pick Run with graphics driver. It should give you two options to pick from.
Also 15.8 is in beta which may fix some issues.
Resolved Issues:
[424009] Adobe® Lightroom may crash if GPU rendering is enabled
[423336] Mouse cursor coordinates may be swapped on some 3x1 Eyefinity configurations
[421110] The Witcher® 3: Wild Hunt - Corruption may be observed when AA is enabled in AMD CrossFire™ mode
[424127] The Firefox browser may crash while opening multiple tabs (2 or more)

Re: Windows 10
Huntor,
Could Wind's problem be the switchable graphics HP uses on laptops with Intel/AMD configuration? It was a problem with upgrades to 8/8.1 when, rather than go back to win 7, laptop gamers were looking for and using modded drivers to recapture full use of their AMD GPUs. I haven't seen it, but I understand that in the newest version of the Catalyst software, for Win 10, the switchable feature is not there, completely gone. However, the laptop's GPU hardware still requires it to function properly. Neither AMD nor HP has stepped up to the plate to apply a fix. Again, the only option appears to be modded drivers if you wish to hold on to Win 10. I think the only laptops not affected by the Intel/AMD issues are Sony and Toshiba.
Just a thought.
