ACCESS DENIED!!

What I know about Windows 10 you could write on the cover of a matchbook.

I'm trying to change the Frame Lock in the game.cfg file. When I try to save it I get a popup that says "Access Denied".

I'm sure it's probably something to do with being the Administrator. How do I set that up?

I usually have mine right off the C drive. C:\BOMOD16. Then you can edit modify or do anything you want.

The issue has to do with extra security because it is inside the Program Files folder. It will keep you from being able to edit and save in that directory.

Well . . . I moved the game to the C: drive and was able to change the Lock Rate to '0'. I moved it back into the Program(86) file and checked the game.cfg file and the change was still there. However, I still have a lousy frame rate. With V1.6 on a Single Player map called Night Trap my best Frame Rate is 56. With V1.5 on the same map, same computer, the frame rate is 160.

UPDATE: I moved the 1.6 folder back to the c:\ drive and it seems to be working OK.

Yup what happens is that the game.cfg file isn't running from your game folder. It is running from your users folder. So any change in your program files folder isn't being respected. This is why I don't run dfx2 inside the program files folder anymore.
