"Privacy Seperator" option

I'm trying to connect my Amazon Fire and my cellphone to my Canon Pixma MX410 wireless printer but I keep getting this response:
"Check that the Wi-Fi access point/router's "Privacy Separator" option is disabled." I've looked through the router's admin and have no clue what or where this is.
I have a "Linksys WRT32X Gaming Router". I have 3 wireless laptops and 2 wired computers that connected to the printer with no problem.
ANY SUGGESTIONS??

My understanding is if you had the Privacy Separator turned on. None of your PCs and Laptops would be able to talk to the printer. So I don't think that is your issue.

I have never setup my phone to print to my printer. I do have a laser cannon printer that I could try to setup on my phone. Maybe I will do this later and see if I get any luck with it.

I downloaded the mopria print service app from the google store which is a printing app and I was allowed to print a test page from my phone. I also had to make sure that my printer was away on not in sleep mode before it would detect it.

It supports many many printer brands.

I got the idea from Canons website.

I checked the website out. I have a Canon Pixma MX410 and it was not listed on the list. It's a few years old so probably outdated.
Thanks for checking!! :D

Mine wasn't on that list either.... Which I think is very old. I would try it anyways as you have nothing to lose. If it doesn't work then uninstall it. I have a feeling it will.

Downloaded and tried it, couldn't get phone or tablet to connect to printer. Obviously something blocking it. Oh Well . . . ;)

Re: Share printer on home network - need to turn off privacy separator
Hello Bubba;
The router wouldn't have this enabled by default. This is often called "AP Isolation" in the Wireless settings.

I'd like to suggest the following website, possibly to lend some additional insight to your question.

If you've resolved your issue, disregard this post.
