looking for a new video card

Hey guys,
I'm looking to upgrade my video card... The guy at Future Shop suggested a Radion HD 5770....
Any advice or suggestions???

Well the 6000 series is out. But it all depends on the $$$.

I subscribe to a magazine called MaximumPC (which covers alot of gaming technology). They have an article in the latest issue on budget, economy, mid-range and high-end video cards, and rate each with the benchmark tests that they use. Unfortunately, the website is always a few months behind on the archived print articles... but, the following link will get you to what they call "The Best of the Best". They have three price ranges in this link. Maybe this will help you decide.

ps: make sure that you have the motherboard, power supply and cooling set-up that will handle the latest cards!
